I nurtured stuffed animals instead of dolls. Moving to Pilar, a village pop+-100 from Chicago’s millions 23 years ago and I am still gob-smacked by the wildlife here. Deer, elk, beavers, raccoons, eagles, coyotes…wildlife outnumber humans. Recently I took 1200 pictures while surrounded by 60 big horn sheep. Jumping horses in the ‘A’ show circuit in the Midwest segued into my understanding the fascinating physique of the local wild power animals- bears, bison and big horn sheep. Their sculptural musculature with their energy commands a confident display of absolute sovereignty. I strive to express that power.
